Each year since its founding in 1919, the Los Angeles Philharmonic has been hailed as
Southern California's leading performing arts institution. Today the Philharmonic is recognized as one of the world's outstanding orchestras. The Los Angeles Philharmonic is located in Downtown Los Angeles at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The Los Angeles Philharmonic also performs at the Hollywood Bowl. The Music Center is easily accessible from all major freeways.

With a seating capacity of 18,000 the Hollywood Bowl is the main venue for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. A wide variety of
groups and performers have graced the stage and special weekend events occur throughout the season. Even when there isnt a perfomance the Bowl grounds are a favorite picnic spot for locals and tourists alike.

This is a smaller neighbor
of the Hollywood Bowl that recently underwent renovation. It is a graceful outdoor venue with superb sight lines and warm acoustics which favor more intimate programs. Folk music, Jazz, world music, outdoor chamber music, as well as dance and theater are featured. The season runs from May through September.

Euterpe Opera Theatre is a small opera theatre company, where young talent is often featured. Founded in 1924, and based in Los Angeles, the Euterpe Opera performs in English and Spanish. They perform regularly at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and also conduct workshops and other educational events.
